The camp was built in 1950 to house R.A.F personnel from the nearby radar station
The camp had its own fire station and police station
We took over the fire station in 2005 and have worked hard and spent a lot of money to refurb the station back to its former glory
On doing some research we have found some pics shown below
This is an aerial shot of the camp
This is the site plan with all buildings listed number 4 being the fire station
The original sign at the entrance to the camp

A shout from on site staff to a fire in woods on site
There were 2 seats of fire and the smoke could be seen from 6 miles away
The fire spread to undergrowth
We had a crew on site and informed controll at Hampshire
Due to the amount of smoke and the fact that we are so near to Dorset border Christchurch turned up with the Scania pump but were happy to leave it in our hands damping down continued for 2 hours in to the night
